EnviGuard AlgaeMicroalgae are the major producers of biomass and organic compounds in the aquatic environment. Among the marine microalgae a number of toxic species, mainly dinoflagellates are known to have the potential to form Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs). In order to minimize the damage of human health or economic losses to fisherman and aquaculture efficient monitoring methods are required that allow regular monitoring of potentially toxic algal species. This work package aims at the development of an autonomous molecular based biosensor for the detection of microalgae.
